About Us
Carolina International Relations Association (CIRA) is UNC’s leading international affairs club, engaging students on the global issues of today. CIRA is devoted to fostering critical thought, discussion, and debate on current international issues, stimulating creative and effective responses to them, developing the analytical, communicational, and team building skills of its members and the broader university community.
We aim to work towards combating international crises that threaten peace and security, social and economic progress, and fundamental human rights. Through our branches and social opportunities, there are a variety of ways to get involved.

Model United Nations at Chapel Hill (MUNCH) is a three-day international relations simulation for high school students held annually on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s campus. At MUNCH, delegates gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of world leaders and international decision makers. Through taking on the roles of United Nations representatives, members of other international bodies, and policymakers in national cabinets, students learn about the inner workings of global politics and problem-solving.
